Earth Mandala Project, by Ayala Reznik, AIR 2018
A legacy of the 2018 Artist in Residence program at The Haven was created through the Earth Mandala Project led by artist Ayala Reznik.
Ayala Reznik, 2018 Artist in Residence at The Haven, involved staff and program participants from The Haven, and members of the wider Gabriola Island community, through the Earth Mandala Project during the month of April.
A mandala is a geometric pattern that represents the cosmos metaphysically or symbolically – an ancient sacred symbol for the universe. This symbolism inspired Ayala to launch the project as a legacy of her residency and a gift to Gabriola.
Enjoy this 5-minute highlight video as she describes the symbolism, her design and tours the area where the mandala resides. Background music by Ayala Reznik and Patrick Olmsted (gabriola.guitars). Special guest appearance by Juniper the dog.
