Week 47: Whales
When we first found this photograph, we were puzzled. How did those whales get to be where they are now, on the other side of the wall (in what is now the gym, and was not so long ago the indoor swimming pool)?
However, with a little research we discovered that they’re not the same whales. The ones in this picture were made of ply wood and attached to the blue painted wall. The ones on the inside are painted directly on the wall. All of them are by Phil Ashbee, as are the whales engraved in glass outside the lodge.
