Week 27: Grubby But Still Pretty

Wow.  That was at least two life times ago. This image would be from my early 40’s, just before I met my wife Judy while working in the gardens at The Haven. As you can see, I was another of the things Ben and Jock had retrieved from the used and abused store, brought  back to Gabriola and installed as gardener-groundskeeper whatever was needed-er.

As is fitting a gardener, I was pretty grubby but still pretty in a way, which could be seen if you squinted and the light was right.  Judy spotted me on her first visit to Haven and eventually made arrangements to have me installed in her garden here in Edmonton.  My time at The Haven was wonderful … but not always easy … and I am forever grateful for the time I had at The Haven and the relationships we developed, many which continue to today.
