Week 24: Elegance and Grace
Ernie McNally writes: I took this photo of Joann Peterson in July 2000. Every evening of Phase One, after the interns and participants had left for their small group, we would walk down to the point on Malaspina and back, reflecting on the day. Joann had a way of pausing, leaning on her treasured brass-handle cane, and looking back out toward the water and the last of the sun before it dropped behind the mountain. To me, that pose, and this photo, capture her special elegance and grace.
