Haven Style Embodiment Training

With Linda Nicholls and Sean Kearns

February 18 - 23, 2025

Haven Style Embodiment Training

An embodied person is said to have “one eye looking in and one eye looking out.”  Meaning, an embodied person is physically, mentally, psychologically and emotionally present and congruent within their self in the moment while also congruent and present in the moment, and responsive to, others and their environment.

As we heal we become embodied; as we become embodied we heal.  Authentic, lasting transformation must include our body.

Psychological and emotional energy restrictions from traumatic events and neglectful emotional experiences are held deeply in our body, and lie at the root of distress, dissociation and disembodiment.

In order to responsibly guide another person to liberate their self from these unconscious restrictions of their inner strength, passion, physical and mental health and vitality through facilitating embodiment practices, the practitioner must first tend to their own embodiment.

This program is for helping professionals who are keen to:

  • Learn and experience body, breath and energy practices as a way to skillfully open into the depths of the body and psyche
  • Learn to sensitively facilitate a person to beneficially liberate deeply held restrictions by navigating the continuum from subtle, delicate nuances to passionate expression
  • Develop and use your own intuition, creativity and presence
  • Become aware of and utilize transformative moments as they emerge

The spirit of this time together is one of creative exploration through a variety of energetic and expressive approaches.  Supervised practice, small and large group discussion, and personal work deepen the experience.  Immediate feedback both as the “subject” and as the “practitioner” provide a rich and rare opportunity for learning.

Sean Kearns has spent over 30 years supporting himself doing what he loves, and it has not always been easy.  His journey has been shaped by a profession in the skateboarding, surfing, and snowboarding industries, where he has dedicated learning to being in, and identifying with, his body. This deep-rooted embodiment has not only defined his professional experience, but also translated to his work in circles, and as a process group facilitator. Over the years, Sean has refined his practice to embody principles of connection, presence, and authentic, at times unapologetic, expression. Through his 16-year association with The Haven, he…
