Conscious Breathwork: A Training for Personal Mastery & Professional Skill Development
With Linda Nicholls
November 22 - 24, 2024
The association of breath with spirit, with the divine, is deeply rooted in so many of our ancient indigenous cultures, including Buddhism, Taoism, Hinduism, the meditative and spiritual core of yogic traditions, Christianity and Judaism. This knowledge has been preserved and is practiced today by shamans, mystics, yoga masters, healers, medicine people, meditators and available to all of us should we choose to learn.
I’d like to share with you a translation from Sanskrit of one of the many beautiful Yukti verses of the ancient yoga meditation teachings that I find inspiring — the first written version apparently appeared around AD 800:
Breathing is the flow of the divine,
Where the rhythms of life turn into each other –
The eternal exchange.
Pour one breath into the other,
Outbreath into the inbreath
Into the outbreath.
Awaken to calmness . . . to equanimity
At peace in the play of opposites.
Translation by Lorne Roche in his book The Radiance Sutras.
