Nature Literacy

Sep 27 - Sep 29, 2019

Step outside (of your comfort zone).

Greater aliveness - Deeper connection - More confidence

The sounds of the forest, the scent of the earth, fresh, clean air – we know how good being in nature feels. It’s restorative, energizing and vitalizing.

  • Do you feel the need to unplug from technology and the busyness of business?
  • Do you long for a deeper connection to the natural world?
  • Do you want to be more confident and better prepared for outdoor pursuits?

This program is for you!

Nature Deficit Disorder is rampant in our world today, manifesting itself as the fear of trying new outdoor activities, fear of the unknown, or fear of stepping outside of your comfort zone. Unplugging provides an opportunity to feel the rhythm of the earth and experience a sense of place in the natural world. It will help us allay our fears and deepen our connection.

Hilary people on cliffOver the two days, through interpretive walks through the forest and guided explorations along the inter-tidal zone, we will identify edible plants, and learn proper collection and preparation methods. Outdoor games and organized activities will align with themes of navigation, safety and risk management, and self-sufficiency in the wild.

This program is designed as an introductory and familiarization weekend – no previous experience is required. Just be curious and willing to explore. Through it all, you will gain a richer understanding of the world around you as we weave ancient stories and natural history with our signature invigorating style of experiential learning.

Sound like the perfect weekend?

We think so. We look forward to you joining us!
