FREE: Group Check-in
These free or pay-what-you-can check-ins are an opportunity to connect, be heard, and find support. Join us every Thursday at 6:15pm PT.
"I have been struggling with lots of anxiety and being part of a Haven group was like coming home. I had such a good sleep that night." - Brenda, Online Check-ins
These are not Haven programs, but are an opportunity to be with others who value open and honest communication and connection. If you're Haven Alumni, you're likely to see familiar faces and reconnect with other participants, faculty, assistants, and interns. If you're new to The Haven, we welcome you to our community and encourage you to learn more about our models and concepts online and through others who have been to our campus.
These weekly calls are an opportunity to meet and check-in with others. We'll begin as a large group and split into small groups (just like in Haven programs!) with the calls lasting 90 minutes in total. Our intention has been to review and evolve along the way and we've learned that many of our Alumni wanted the opportunity to invite family and friends. Despite an abundance of Zoom calls out there, we continue to hear that our check-ins are offering something valuable and unique.
Creating a safe container where people can be vulnerable is important to us. All attendees will be reminded to keep the content of the calls confidential. We gather as a large group before splitting into smaller groups with a mix of alumni and newcomers.
Starting January 28th we will begin a 7-week series based loosely on Virginia Satir’s Iceberg Model. We will use the following topics to touch in with what might be going on beneath the surface.
Jan 28 - Behaviour
Feb 4 - Coping
Feb 11 - Feelings and Feelings About Feelings
Feb 18 - Beliefs and Assumptions
Feb 25 - Expectations of Self, of Others, from Others
Mar 4 - Yearnings (universal) to be Loved, Lovable, Accepted, Belonging
Mar 11 - I AM, the Deep Self
"I find these sessions so valuable right now. Like everyone, I'm finding it hard to be isolating." - Lesley, Online Check-ins
This online check-in will be hosted on Zoom, a video conferencing software that is free for participants and easy to use on a variety of devices. You will need to have a device (desktop computer or laptop recommended; tablet or smartphone can work too), reliable internet connection, and sound capabilities (headset recommended; built in or external microphone or speaker systems can work too). You will be invited to join the call up to 15 minutes early to receive technical support. Your Zoom link and Haven Online How-to guide will be emailed to you the day before the program. All registrants will receive a reminder email the day of the session(s) as well.
