Come Alive

Jan 01 - Jan 06, 2018

An invitation to live your life to the fullest.

Come Alive is an opportunity to revitalize your life, discover and activate your resources and realize your full potential.

Come Alive is for you if you want to:

  •  Experience the juiciness of living life more fully
  •  Deepen your self knowledge and move beyond self-imposed limits
  •  Open to and express deeper dimensions of feeling in ways which enhance your life and relationships
  •  Gain valuable insights to strengthen your health and well-being
  •  Learn and practice a transformative paradigm for communicating
  •  Rediscover joy and meaning in life
  •  Expand your capacity for harmonious, loving and fulfilling relationships
  • Impact your life both personally and professionally

Here's what participants have to say (5-min video) about their experience of Come Alive.

In Come Alive, you will learn and practice the Haven models of communication, relationship and self-responsibility, through a range of opportunities for personal learning. The whole group meets during the day, with smaller groups in the evenings. In addition to group activities and discussions, each participant is offered a time for individual experience in large or small group sessions, including breath and body work, gestalt, psychodrama and other forms.

Come Alive is led by members of The Haven's core faculty. Gifted leaders, educators and group facilitators, they have all trained at The Haven and have many years' experience leading Come Alive and other programs.

Come Alive is part of the core curriculum of The Haven. It was created some 40 years ago by The Haven's founders, Bennet Wong and Jock McKeen. You can read a History of Come Alive by Ben and Jock on The Haven's Shen blog.

Come Alive can impact your professional as well as your personal life. The tools we offer can assist in conflict resolution, team building and leadership. If you would like your employer or professional body to support you taking Come Alive, you may find this description for employers and professional bodies (PDF) useful.

There will be a welcome orientation on the first night of the program starting at 7pm.

Come Alive Integration Online: Bringing The Haven Home

Have you completed a Come Alive within the past few months? Wondering how best to integrate your learning into daily life? If so, the Come Alive Integration online program is for you.

About three or four times per year, we offer participants from recent Come Alive programs additional online support - three weekly 1.5-hour video-conference sessions, with opportunities to check in, discuss The Haven Models, practice breathing and continue your experiential learning. During these weeks, you will be encouraged to connect with other participants to share your learning, and you will have the opportunity to book a 30-minute private session with a Come Alive leader.

All this for FREE!

The Come Alive Integration program is available to all Come Alive participants at no additional charge. Instead of a program fee, we encourage participants to spread the word about Come Alive and The Haven, and to help others to attend by donating to The Haven's Financial Aid program.

Come Alive Integration dates are posted below. Each session begins at 6:45 PM (Pacific Time).

  • Start date 26-Feb plus 5-Mar and 12-Mar
  • Start date 15-May plus 22-May and 29-May
  • Start date 9-Jul plus 16-Jul and 23-Jul
  • Start date 10-Sep plus 17-Sep and 24-Sep
  • Start date 5-Dec plus 12-Dec and 19-Dec

By invitation only - about a week before each Come Alive Integration we will email invitations to people who participated in the most recent Come Alive programs. Register by replying to the email as soon as you can - this program is very popular, and online seats are limited. Upon registration, you will receive a confirmation email with instructions on how to join the online session.

If you participated in a recent Come Alive, but did not receive an invitation to Come Alive Integration, please contact CA-integration@haven.ca with your request.

We look forward to helping you bring The Haven home.
