ONLINE: An Introduction to Giving Voice

Discover the gifts of vocal sounding...

Since time immemorial, we have used our voices as vehicles for expression, communication, connection, healing and transcendence—be it cooing, babbling, speaking, singing, howling, toning, you name it. We wail in grief, squeal with joy, sigh in relief. We chant in devotion and we hum for comfort. We are born sound makers, and the voice is our sounding medium.

In our culture, we’ve become so addicted to talking that we seem to have forgotten that the voice is much more than a word delivery tool. We have also professionalized singing, giving rise to the notion of “singers,” and conversely, those who “can’t sing.” Yet having a voice is more than one’s (perceived) ability to sing!

The fact is, your voice (yes, yours) is a powerful vibrational healing medium—one that can move energy, calm your nervous system, boost your immune system, lower your blood pressure and heart rate, release endorphins, and much more. And, it’s literally right there under your nose.

Curious? Join me for a two-hour introduction to the many gifts of vocal sounding as a vibratory medium. Together we will explore a range of embodied breathing, vocal sounding, and listening practices that you can easily incorporate into your daily life. This session is an opportunity to let go, try something new, and play with sound! No experience or materials required.
