ONLINE: A Gathering of Men
For diverse men of all ages and stages to explore and redefine their relationship to self, others and their community.
We welcome all those who self-identify as men with the intention of including and welcoming the great diversity of the male/masculine experience.
What a year it's been! Huge upheavals including the COVID-19 pandemic, widespread activism and awareness of police violence and systemic oppression, increasing political and social polarization, and the ongoing climate crisis have been increasingly salient in our lives and consciousness. Understandings of gender play an important role in these issues and how we engage with them.
Simultaneously, age-old personal challenges like relationships, parenting, work-life balance, life purpose, and self-care continue to require our thoughtful attention. The world is in transition, and spaces for men to self-reflect, share and learn, be vulnerable, and bravely re-imagine male identities are more important than ever. By gathering to explore our inner worlds and social locations, we can support one another in gaining clarity around our values and priorities, learn to show up in more just and non-oppressive ways, and cultivate healthier versions of masculinity in our communities and ourselves.
Are any of these statements true for you?
I want more connection and deeper conversations with other men.
I want to explore my own vulnerability in a supportive community.
I want to have meaningful conversations and reflection on masculinity.
I want to look at men’s involvement in negative behaviors and challenges that men face.
I want access to frameworks and processes that support the construction of my own unique male identity.
I want to explore allyship with marginalized persons and identities in a courageous, supportive, non-shaming environment.
If you said “yes” to any of the above, this online program may be a perfect opportunity to explore and redefine your relationship with masculinity.
With a mix of conversations, resources-sharing, and experiential activities in small and large groups, we will move through an arc of exploring our connections to self, to others, and to the world...on Zoom!
