Warren Fraleigh: The Haven’s New Executive Director

We are very pleased to announce the appointment of our new Executive Director, Warren Fraleigh. The following letter is from The Board of Directors.

The Board of Directors of the Haven Foundation is pleased to announce that we have completed the hiring process and have selected Warren Fraleigh to be the Executive Director after a thorough and inclusive interview process. His start date is July 10, 2017.

Warren has extensive experience as Executive Director of the Building Trades of Alberta where he served the interests of 75,000 working men and women. He has worked with Boards and not-for-profit organizations, both professionally and in a volunteer capacity, with complex and varied administrative and leadership responsibilities.
This has included specific responsibility for the development and delivery of educational programs. He earned a Masters Degree in Leadership and Training from Royal Roads University in order to advance his leadership skills. The Board sees his background as well suited to prepare him for the complexities of The Haven and of the role of the Executive Director.

On a personal note, Warren and his wife Irene are celebrating 35 years of marriage this summer. They have two married daughters and one young grandson. They are currently building a home on Gabriola and are preparing for their move from Edmonton, Alberta. Warren is an amateur percussionist, a nature enthusiast, a lover of books and intends to pursue an artistic interest in creating metal art. He and Irene are looking forward to becoming a part of the Gabriola community.

Warren wanted to share the following sentiments: “The Haven is a very special place and I’m extremely excited for this opportunity. I wanted to offer my sincere gratitude to the Board of Directors for their trust and confidence and I look forward to working with the Haven team and our stakeholder community to ensure we continue to deliver the best possible experience for our learners and guests.”

We express our appreciation to Rachel Davey for her years of service as Executive Director at The Haven. Under her guidance the organization has grown and prospered. We are well positioned to welcome a new Executive Director and to move ahead with new eyes and renewed energy. We are excited about what is to come at The Haven.
