New and Returning Programs for 2016

Skills 3: Gestalt Plus
February 11-14 with Wayne Dodge and Jane Olynyk
The term Gestalt refers to three different things: a practice or exercise sometimes referred to as ‘two chair work’; a school of psychotherapy; and the concept of the ‘wholeness’ of a picture or situation. This program examines all three, with most time focused on gestalt as an exercise.

Introduction to Nonviolent Communication
March 11-14 with Mitch Miyagawa
This 3-day program introduces you to the core of NVC: a set of simple but profound ways to notice our inner life and the inner lives of others, and to compassionately connect to the common motivations and desires we all share. Make peace and powerful change, inside and out. Escape the cycle of blame and judgment. Befriend yourself first, then your world.

New Horizons Phase III
March 13-April 7 with Wayne Dodge and Jane Olynyk
This Haven core program is an exploration of the many concepts by which each person is defined and consequently defines him or herself. Through understanding these ideas, participants can broaden the options available to them in creating their own world. In this program, you will be exposed to a wide variety of ideas, systems and thought structures – ways of viewing the world. You will question prejudices, fixed ideas and ideologies. By investigating the nature of your own assumption system, you will have an opportunity to free yourself from the idea that there is one particular truth. By articulating your own system of belief, you will be able to make conscious decisions about what aspects of it to keep, discard or change.

Spring and Fall Yoga Immersion
April 1-3 and September 29-October 1 with Kelly Price
We are composed of the same five elements as every other material object – ether, air, fire, water, and earth. But our distance from natural cycles and rhythms can separate us from the wisdom and knowledge we need to stay balanced. This seasonal yoga program draws on the wisdom of Tantra, Ayurveda and Traditional Chinese Medicine; celebrating our bodies innate wisdom, and the importance of being in alignment with nature.

Psychology of the Chakras
May 6-9 with Brad Cassidy
This program imparts the knowledge, develops the skills and cultivates the awareness needed to quickly grasp the overall character traits of an individual through assessment of character structure as expressed in the body. This method views the body through the lenses of the chakra system, Bioenergetics and developmental psychology and is based on the work of international teacher and award winning author, Anodea Judith of Sacred Centers.

Skills 1: Introduction to Personality Styles
September 6-9 with Wayne Dodge and Carole Ames
This program provides an introduction to diagnosis of personality styles and disorders. Using object relations theory of personality development as a base, students learn how to recognize the basic personality patterns and learn, through practice, important and effective therapeutic interventions. Since each student will be assessing their own personality pattern, this program is useful for everyone.

September 21-October 1 with Marlyn Farrell
What role does creativity play in your life? Do you long to express yourself creatively, but don’t know where to start? Do you want to experience the freedom of a mind at rest? Come join us to awaken your creativity, spirituality, and playfulness.
